Can I still deduct charitable contributions if I don’t itemize?
Yes. Starting in 2026, nonitemizers can claim a deduction of up to $1,000 ($2,000 for joint filers) for cash donations to qualified charities. Contributions to donor-advised funds or private foundations do not qualify.
